Reflections on Jesus’ Sacrifice: Daily prayer points focused on each day leading up to Resurrection Sunday.

Day 1: Palm Sunday

– Give thanks for Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem
– Pray for humility in our own lives, as we remember how Jesus rode in on a donkey rather than a horse
– Ask for the courage to follow Jesus, even when it is unpopular or difficult

Day 2: Monday

– Reflect on Jesus’ cleansing of the temple and his anger at those who had turned it into a marketplace
– Pray for purity in our own lives, and for the courage to stand up against injustice and oppression
– Ask for the strength to resist the temptation to prioritize material possessions over our relationship with God

Day 3: Tuesday

– Remember Jesus’ teachings in the temple, including the parable of the vineyard and the fig tree
– Pray for wisdom and understanding as we seek to apply Jesus’ teachings to our own lives
– Ask for the ability to bear fruit in our own lives, and to use our talents and resources to serve others

Day 4: Wednesday

– Reflect on Judas’ betrayal of Jesus and the beginning of the plot to arrest him
– Pray for protection from temptation and for the strength to remain faithful even in the face of persecution
– Ask for forgiveness for any ways in which we have betrayed Jesus in our own lives

Day 5: Maundy Thursday

– Remember the Last Supper and Jesus’ washing of the disciples’ feet
– Pray for humility and servant-heartedness in our own lives
– Ask for the ability to love others sacrificially, just as Jesus loved us

Day 6: Good Friday

– Reflect on Jesus’ journey towards Calvary and his ultimate sacrifice on the cross
– Pray for a deeper understanding of the weight of our own sin and the grace that was extended to us through Jesus’ sacrifice
– Ask for the courage to live out our faith in a way that honors this sacrifice

Day 7: Holy Saturday

– Remember the darkness and despair that Jesus’ disciples must have felt after his death
– Pray for hope and faith in the midst of difficult circumstances
– Ask for a deeper trust in God’s plan, even when it doesn’t make sense to us

Day 8: Resurrection Sunday

– Give thanks for Jesus’ resurrection and the hope that it brings
– Pray for a renewed sense of joy and celebration in our lives
– Ask for the ability to live out the resurrection power that we have access to through Jesus

May these prayer points lead us to a deeper relationship with God and a greater appreciation for the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Amen šŸ™
