What We Believe

THE BIBLE/ Word of God
We believe the Scripture, all 66 books of the combined Old and New Testaments, is verbally inspired by God. We believe the Bible is inerrant in the original writings, and it is the Christian’s final authority in faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

The Holy Trinity
We believe in the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit! There is only one God, but in unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and coequal Persons, the same in substance, but distinct in subsistence, Isaiah 45:5-6, 46:9; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1Timothy 2:5; James 2:19.

There is only one living and true God, Who is infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body, parts, or passions, immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute, working all things according to the counsel of His own immutable and righteous will, for His own glory; most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression and sin; the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him; and withal most just and terrible in His judgments.

The Father
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Author and Creator of all things. The Father is mentioned by the Savior alone well over 200 times during His earthly ministry. Our Lord Jesus taught us many things about the Father…

  1. He is spirit, John 4:24
  2. He is omnipotent, Matthew 19:26
  3. He is omniscient, Matthew 10:29
  4. He is holy, John 17:11
  5. He is righteous, John 17:25
  6. He is loving, John 3:16; 17:23
  7. He is good, Matthew 6:26, 28-30; 10:29-30

The outstanding truth which Christ taught about God is that He is Father. This term applied to Him, occurs 189 times: in Matthew, 44 times; in Mark, 4 times; in Luke, 17 times; and in John, 124 times.

The Son
The Revival Center Hesperia believes that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh, who came as a servant to die for the remission of sins; He is the ultimate sacrifice that, through the unselfish act of the cross, has set all men free from death to life eternal! We believe that Jesus was, and is, eternal in His person and nature as the Son of God who was with God at the beginning of creation, John 1:1. According to scriptures, we believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin called Mary, thus giving rise to our fundamental belief in the Virgin Birth and all miraculous events surrounding this phenomenon, Matthew 1:18-25. We believe that Jesus Christ became the “Suffering Servant” to man; this “Suffering Servant” came to redeem man from sin and to reconcile him back to God his Father, Romans 5:10; 2 Corinthians 5:18. We believe that Jesus Christ is standing now as Mediator between God and man, 1Timothy 2:5
“What think ye of Christ”, Matthew 22:42.

The Holy Ghost
We believe the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, is the blessed third Person in the Trinity. He proceeded from the Father and the Son, and is of the same substance, equal in power and glory, and is, together with the Father and Son, to be believed in, obeyed and worshipped, and therefore experiences all sinless elements involved within a divine personality. The Holy Ghost is a gift bestowed upon the believer, making him a more effective witness for service in the world. He teaches and guides one in all truth, John 16:13; Acts 1:8, 8:39.
